Sony has released a new PS3 firmware updates on 2.4.2009. A few new functionality has been added to the console such as text chat, dynamic normalizer and copy paste functions.

Text chat enables users to communicate to each other in friends list and during gameplay.

Dynamic normalizer is a new feature added to the Music Player which controls the sound level of different music files. With this feature turn on, music player will make every music files sound level the same.

You can now copy text from a page in the Internet browser, and then paste it into a text box or message.

Copy paste functions in web browser is now possible with 2.70 updates.

Copying text

1. Using the left stick, move the pointer to the location of the text that you want to copy, and then press the O button.
2. Hold down the O button and move the left stick of the controller to select the text.
3. Release the O button at the end of the text that you want to copy.
4. Select [Copy] from the menu that is displayed.

You can paste copied text into a text box or message when the on-screen keyboard is displayed.

1. Select [Paste] from the on-screen keyboard.
A list of text items that have been copied from the Internet browser will be displayed.
2. Select the text that you want to paste, and then press the O button.
